Oil Mist Extraction / Smoke Extraction
Horizon are able to offer a wide selection of solutions for the efficient collection/filtration of oil mist/oil smoke.

Machine tools today operate at higher cutting speeds with the resultant increase in air pollution. Ideally all such pollution should be collected at source with suitably sized hoods/canopies. Many machine tools today are fully enclosed allowing capture to be straightforward simply by extracting from the machine enclosure itself.

Horizon electrostatic versions of the SMOG-EATER air cleaning range are ideally suitable for the efficient filtration of the oil mist/oil smoke. The filter elements being manufactured throughout of aluminium are of the permanent life design, additionally as oil mist collects, droplets drain down into the integral sump of the SMOG-EATER promoting virtually a self-cleaning affect. In instances where an electrostatic filter is not suitable, mechanical filter versions of the SMOG-EATER range are available. In applications where there is a high moisture content, moisture eliminator panels fitted prior to the electrostatic filters are included.

The SE.8 SMOG-EATER is suitable for single machine tools, in some cases two machine tools depending on size. The larger SE.10 is suitable for two/three machine tools. Larger SMOG-EATER units are available to group together any number of machine tools into a central plant. Mobile units are available and units are manufactured specifically for combinations of oil mist/oil smoke together with grinding dust i.e. the Horizon CE-M series.

The efficiency of the SMOG-EATER electrostatic precipitator is up to 98/99% on particles as small as 0.01 microns in particle size.

In instances where it is not possible to collect the oil mist/oil smoke at source, a range of free hanging units are available to provide a general clean up of the workshop atmosphere. The free hanging units are normally suspended from the roof steelwork but can also be bracketed from walls, stanchions, and steelwork pedestals from floor level.

The SE.22 SMOG-EATER is ideal for the average sized factory, the SE.11 for the smaller factory, particularly large areas are best served by the larger models SE.44 and SE.44.SS. All units are provided with an indicating light to show when cleaning is required.
