Welding Fume / Smoke Extraction
Horizon offer a wide range of solutions for the removal of welding fume / smoke. Ideally, whenever possible welding fumes should be extracted at source. In instances where this is not possible, a range of units are available to provide a general clean up of the workshop atmosphere.

Horizon recommend that welding fumes should be filtered allowing the filtered clean air to return back to the workshop premises without the necessity for external exhaust with the resultant loss of energy.

In cases where recycling is not required, exhaust to atmosphere systems are available. In the majority of cases we recommend electrostatic filters for the removal of the welding fumes from air streams. They have the advantage of being of permanent life design requiring periodic cleaning only, not replacement i.e. no on-going filter replacement costs. In some instances mechanical filters are recommended and are available for all models, in other instances a combination of electrostatic/mechanical is recommended.

SEV/SEH PORTABLE HAND CARRY UNITS Designed for light welding fume extraction. Not suitable for continuous production work.

SMOG-MOBILE The SMOG-MOBILE is built for rigorous industrial use. The standard unit is fitted with an industrial electrostatic filter in fact two sets in tandem for high cleansing efficiency.

PANDA FUME/DUST CART The PANDA is fitted with a filter cartridge of 14.0m2.

FILTO-BENCH The FILTO-BENCH is the all-in-one combined work bench with built-in welding fume extraction at source. Units can be fitted with electrostatic or mechanical filters or a combination of both. A wide range of sizes is available.

FIXED UNITS Units available for wall mounting or attaching to suitable steelwork, or mounted on vertical support stanchions. The SE.8 is ideally suitable for one welding position, the SE.10 for either one or two, larger units available for any number of welding positions linked together.

GENERAL CLEAN UP UNITS In some factories where welding fumes are created, it is not possible for a variety of reasons to collect the pollution at source. In such circumstances a good alternative is to provide units at high level to provide a general clean up of the workshop atmosphere. The SE.22 is ideal for the average sized factory, the SE.11 for the smaller factory, particularly large areas are best served by the larger models SE.44 and SE.44.SS.

CENTRAL STATION SYSTEMS A wide variety of plant and systems are available to link all sources of welding fume to a single purpose designed plant situated in a convenient position. There is no limit on the number of extract points which can be connected together.

EXHAUST TO ATMOSPHERE SYSTEMS Horizon manufacture a wide range of fan/motor assemblies ranging from single units to serve a single welding operator through to large central systems to group together many fume extraction points. Horizon SMOG-RAMBLER arms, are ideally suitable for at source collection. A variety of styles are available, diameter and lengths. Optional activated carbon gas filters are available for odour reduction for all models
